About Cornerstone Church

Rev. Charles
Cummings,
who has been
appointed to
our church!

Growing up in Fort Walton Beach, Charles graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School, Wofford College, and Asbury Theological Seminary. He served as Summer youth director at area churches in Navarre, Fort Walton Beach, and Shalimar. He also served as youth director for 15 months in between college and seminary at Shalimar.

After being ordained, Charles was appointed as Associate Pastor to Auburn United Methodist Church in June of 1996. He has served in that position ever since while the church grew and began a number of different ministries. Effective July 1, 2024 Charles is approved as an Elder in the Global Methodist Church. His first Sunday was July 7, 2024.

Charles is very humbled and excited to become the first pastor of Cornerstone Church. He is thankful for the way the church was started, the leadership, the faithfulness of the congregation, and new opportunities we will experience together as the Holy Spirit continues to lead.

  • What is the name of the new church?
    Cornerstone - As of May 26, 2024, It was officially announced that Cornerstone is our name. This is based on Matthew 21:42, Mark 12:10, Luke 20:17, Acts 4:11, & Ephesians 2:20

  • How can I be a part of this new mission?
    Share your info to let us know you would like to be contacted, involved, or begin to serve.

  • Where is the new church meeting?
    We are in the process of finalizing our contract on a more permanent location. Check back for ways to help as we will help to renovate the area before moving in!
    Currently we are worshiping at 11:00am on Sundays at “The Place on Beal”:

  • How can I give to the church to help it get established?
    * Give during the offering on Sunday mornings. Any checks written on Sunday can be written to “Cornerstone Church.”
    * We are working on a way to give electronically.

  • With what denomination will the new church be affiliated?
    We were approved to be a Global Methodist Church in March 2024.
